Mega Man 9 - Plug Man

Here's the first honest playthrough of Mega Man 9. (Well, I'm not sure if anybody else is doing the same thing as I'm doing, but I know this series is characterized by crazy skilled platforming gamers who could probably finish this game the first tie through without dying.) It took a while for me to figure out how to get this under the YouTube time limit, as this stage is much much harder than Concrete Man's, and if you ask me, Plug Man is also a lot harder than Concrete Man, despite his really stupid name. There were two places where I was completely stumped as to what to do next. I think they'll be obvious in the video. The first one I've figured out how to get by consistently; the second continues to trip me up even when I find out the solution. Now that I've played this game enough to get some Energy tanks, I knew I'd have to make use of them to defeat Plug Man. I spent the first few attempts trying to figure out how his attacks and patterns work. Turns out he never walks. He just jumps. Of course, the uneven terrain the battlefield takes place in would give him the advantage like this. It also took me a little bit to find out that the Plug Balls drop from the ceiling when they pass above Mega Man. I don't see how anyone could say that getting through this game is simply a matter of knowing how the stages and bosses work. Plug Man and his stage is a great example of me failing over and over, even after I figure out how to approach the situation. My mind can plan, but ...
